PAS tourney tees off

Invitational tournament at Royal Harare this morning.
The golfers are taking part in a tournament through a move initiated by the Zambezi Tour.
The Pro-Am will tee off in the morning and there will be an afternoon field.
Top professional golfer Tongoona Charamba will be the major drawcard after ending last season on a high note.
The golfer finished last season as the highest earning local professional in the Sunshine Tour and will battle it with his old rivals.
Charamba will certainly get tough competition from seasoned campaigners like Ignatius Mketekete, Robson Saurombe and Phillip Tshuma.
Saurombe and Mketekete managed to win some tournaments last season with the former taking the Lowveld Pro-Am and the latter winning the Hwange Open and the Bulawayo edition of the Net*One series.
The first tournament of last year the Leopard Rock Classic was won by injured Marc Cayeux.
Meanwhile, Warren & Ruwa Golf Club member Ferdinand Maringe collapsed and died yesterday afternoon while driving just after he had picked his child from Gateway Primary School.
The Chipembere Safaris expressed their condolences following the sudden death of Maringe.
“We at Chipembere Golf are at loss with this tragic loss.
“Ferd, as he was known in golf circles, was also a member of several social clubs, including Eagles, Bushwackers, Christian Golf Society among several others.
“Due to the proximity of Warren to his place, many golfing friends met there yesterday at Warren Hills before proceeding to his place.
“No burial arrangements have been concluded yet.
“The family still awaits the arrival of his brothers and sisters from abroad,” Chipembere Safaris said.
