with the National Social Security Authority, Zimbabwe Revenue Authority, Zimbabwe Manpower Development Fund and Harmony Labour Consultants.
Mr George said the Pastel Payroll package was easy to use, accurate and secure, with all features and templates customised and compliant with statutory body requirements.
A representative from each of the statutory bodies, Zimra, Zimdef and NSSA, took the seminar participants through how to register with them, the benefits of registering, how to achieve compliance, how to handle arrear payments and how employee earnings should be taxed.
A Harmony Labour Consultants representative did the same in respect of National Employment Councils (NECs).
“The software meets fully the Zimdef and NSSA requirements,” Mr George said.
“For instance everything on NSSA and the Accident Prevention and Worker’s Compensation Scheme (WCIF) is there.
“It can also be customised to meet employers’ requirements and it allows for multiple contribution rates to various statutory bodies,” he said.
“Pastel Payroll saves on time. It allows integration into any accounting package,” Mr George added.
He said Pastel Payroll also offers frictionless software updates, legislative updates, statutory reporting as well as payroll reminders.
“For example, the NSSA P16 and Zimra P2 forms are available on Pastel Payroll, something that most payrolls do not have. Furthermore, plans are at an advanced stage to incorporate all statutory reports required by a Payroll Administrator. You can print them out for a month or any period that you like.
“You can also filter and change the layout of reports if you like,” he said.
“Annual tax tables and regular statutory updates keep your payroll up to date with legislative changes. It caters for many different types of tax calculation methods, for example periodic, average, directive etc,” he added.
Pastel Payroll, he said, came with three modules — Pastel Partner Payroll, Pastel Partner HR Manager and Pastel Partner Employee Self-Service (ESS).
HR Manager allowed for the generation of performance reviews, asset management and synchronisation between HR and Payroll to avoid duplication of tasks.
“ESS allows employees to submit leave applications even when they are away from the office. ESS gives you the online HR Management tools you have always dreamed of, all in an affordable, easy to use method of delivery,” Mr George said.
He said Pastel HR Manager allowed the HR manager to pull out an employment report for every employee that included an education report, history, training report and timeline of events. It could even produce a graphical departmental head count report.
He said Pastel Software Zimbabwe was able to tailor it to suit a company’s requirements on site. All the reports needed could be included on the system within a few hours.
Pastel ESS is a Pastel-hosted solution on the Internet. This, he said, allowed employees to submit leave forms online and make leave requests from anywhere in the world, providing the reasons for wanting to take leave and attaching proofs for such reasons if necessary.
This gave employers access to online HR management with none of the extra costs associated with such endeavours such as web hosting fees and ensuring the database is always up and running.
This works on smart phones as well, he said.
