A pastor with a Pentecostal church in Matopo allegedly committed suicide because of abuse and lack of sex from his wife.

Thembani Ncube (60), a pastor with Home of Faith Mission, according to his uncle Jonah Ncube did not get the love he desired from his wife.

a?He was denied conjugal rights,a? said Jonah.

At some point, the man of God fell sick but instead of caring for him, the wife sought greener pastures only to come back to make his life difficult a year later.

a?Last year when he was sick, his wife eloped with a certain prophet to South Africa. When she came back a few months later the abuse grew,a? added Jonah.

His widow Violet Nyathi (36) said they occasionally fought but when he decided to kill himself he told her and their four children that he loved them.

a?The day he died he hugged the kids and I before he went to hang himself,a? she said.

Matabeleland South police spokesperson Assistant Inspector Nkosilathi Ndlovu confirmed the incident.

a?I received a report about a case of sudden death by hanging. Members of the public should seek counselling from third parties or approach ZRP,a? Sibanda said.
