FORGOTTEN gospel artiste, Lawrence Haisa, who hogged the limelight a few years ago after he allegedly defied custom and traditional civil law by marrying his sister’s daughter and having a child with her marked his return in the gospel music fraternity by featuring on budding gospel artiste, Blessing Pangira’s new album, Itai bedzi zvaareva.
The six-track project which was produced by Olin Anderson at Kunashe Studios is Pangira’s second after his debut titled, Kunamata kungwara last year.
Pastor Haisa who rose to fame more than 10 years ago after releasing soothing hits such as Burukai Mwari and Ndinobvuma, Jesu Ibuwe and Fuku Rangu added splendour to the album with his unique and husky voice.
He features on songs, Stop Raping and Jesu Ndinyurureiwo.
Other songs on the album are Kungwara Here? Mwanangu Terera, Itai Bedzi Zvaareva and Torikudza Zita Renyu.
Rising gospel artistes, Ellen Anderson and Raymond Samhiri also feature on the song Stop Raping.
Pangira said the album carries awareness messages on issues such as rape.
“The song, Stop Raping, is a piece I wrote to raise awareness about rape.
“I encourage people to stop sexually abusing women, particularly children. It is not just inhumane but criminal. I feel it is also our duty as artistes to make noise about issues that affect our day-to-day living. In other songs, I encourage listeners to give thanks and praise to the Lord for protecting us against evil machinations of the devil,” said Pangira.
He spoke glowingly of Haisa whom he described as a father and mentor who contributed immensely to his music career.
“I feel honoured to have roped in of one of experienced musicians like Pastor Haisa. He has vast experience in the gospel music industry and I hope to work with him in future projects,” said Pangira who is backed by The Consuming Fire Group.
