adminDube, who was vying for the Miss Bulawayo 2011 title for the fourth time, says she is a go-getter, as she does not let criticism distract her.
In an interview, Dube, a former receptionist, says she is a result-oriented person who does not easily give up.
“This was my fourth time taking part in Miss Bulawayo and last time I finished in the top three and went for the Miss Zimbabwe finals although I did not win.
“I am a go-getter, I believe in myself because winners don’t quit, only losers do so,” said the 23-year-old model.
She said she was working on establishing her own company that would specialise in cosmetics.
Dube said she was confident that she would make it this time around as she had ironed out some of her past mistakes.
Dube urged the corporate sector to chip in and assist the modelling industry.
She said she was contesting in the Miss Bulawayo pageant for the last time as next year she would be above the pageant cut-off age of 23.
Dube was crowned second runner-up at a colourful ceremony held at a local hotel on Friday together with Miss Bulawayo 2011, university student Bongani Dlakama and first princess Valerie Chingonzo.
This year’s pageant saw the models walking away with prizes that included holiday packages, a lounge suite, refrigerator, gift vouchers, workouts at a local health studio and computer courses at a local college.
Some of this year’s big prizes came from the pageant’s official media partner B-Metro and other sponsors such as BES College, Body Tech, Rainbow Hotel and Food Express.
Patron of the pageant Sarah Mpofu-Sibanda highlighted that sponsorship was hard to come by but was grateful for the timely intervention by the sponsors, which saw the programme going on as planned.
The three models will represent the city at the Miss Zimbabwe pageant next year.
This year, Bulawayo Province was represented by Nadia Gori and the controversial Lungile Mathe.
