LEADERS of the Patriotic Churches in Zimbabwe have described Zimbabwe’s Chairmanship of SADC as divinely inspired and a national blessing that has come at an opportune moment.
Chairperson of Patriotic Churches in Zimbabwe, Apostle Benjamin Murata, said the assumption of the SADC Chairmanship by President Mnangagwa had a spiritual significance to regional unity, power, healing, restoration.
“Allow me to congratulate His Excellency, President Mnangagwa, for assuming the Chairman of SADC,” said Apostle Murata, who is also the leader of New Life Pentecostal Church.
“His appointment is divine and has a spiritual significance to the region’s new dawn to a better Africa. The Second Republic, led by President Mnangagwa has been preaching about international peace, and engaging other countries to restore the lost relations with other nations.
“Such a language of love and forgiveness is a true sign of a good leader and the Chairmanship given to him is a reward from God.”
Apostle Murata said the infrastructure developments being undertaken by President Mnangagwa, which are leaving no one and no place behind, have brought hope for a brighter in the people.
“His humility that has seen him engaging all religious denominations, removing his shoes and putting on white garments for the sake of delivering a message of life, is commendable. The heavens saw that humility and allowed him to take over the SADC Chairmanship even in the presence of his detractors.
“Other politicians in the country criticise other denominations, but President Mnangagwa embraces all of them and preaches the gospel of peace and unity each time he engages them. God saw it fit for such leadership to be spread throughout the region,” said Apostle Murata.
Patriotic Churches in Zimbabwe, which has over 1 000 leaders of church denominations affiliated to it, will continue to pray for national leaders in line with the teaching of the Bible.
Madzibaba Strive Masango of Kubata kweVapostori Church said President Mnangagwa’s Chairmanship of SADC “will unlock all doors and end regional conflicts that indirectly affect our nation”.
“We have been praying for this and our prayers have been heard and Zimbabwe will never be the same again because of President Mnangagwa’s leadership. We urge all churches to rally behind our national leader as he leads the region. Zimbabwe will become the bread basket of Africa at large,” said Madzibaba Masango.
Madzibaba Moses Gwasarira, chairperson of white garment churches in Zimbabwe, congratulated President Mnangagwa for becoming the SADC Chairperson.

“The region will speak with one voice against sanctions that have been affecting the ordinary people in our nation.
“We see the end of issues to do with drug and substance abuse as well as xenophobia within the region.
“Our national leader is a man of action considering what the Second Republic has achieved since 2018 and we will not tire in giving our prayers before the Almighty God to strengthen him and defeat all detractors and enemies of national development,” said Madzibaba Moses.
President Mnangagwa will be SADC Chairperson until August 17 next year.
