Patron loses US$12 000 at restaurant

A 44 year-old Hatfield man lost cash and equipment, worth a total of US$12 000, to robbers while enjoying food at a restaurant opposite Belgravia Shopping Centre on Monday.

The robbers stole US$8 000 in cash.

Trust Chibi parked his grey Toyota Fortuner at Pariah Restaurant and proceeded to enjoy his meal.

An unidentified person used an unknown object to smash the rear passenger window and stole a briefcase containing a Dell Laptop, Samsung S23 note cellphone, Samsung S21 cellphone, US$8 000 cash.

Harare provincial police spokesperson Inspector Luckmore Chakanza confirmed the case saying investigations are underway.

“Police received a report of theft from car at a restaurant in Belgravia and investigations have since begun,” said Insp Chakanza.
