LONDON. — Paul Scholes has told Louis van Gaal: Manchester United don’t need your philosophy — they just want goals. Outspoken TV pundit and former United star Scholes has regularly voiced his dissatisfaction at Van Gaal’s playing style and tactics since the Dutchman took over last year following the sacking of David Moyes. And speaking at a charity event at Hotel Football just yards from Old Trafford, Scholes was critical once again of the way United play.
Although United are just a couple of points off the top of the table and in the top four, Scholes called for Van Gaal to forget his philosophy — and just rely on attacking football and goals to excite frustrated fans who claim the Dutchman has stripped the excitement out of United. — The Mirror.
