Mthabisi Tshuma in Chitungwiza
The 16th edition of the Shoko Festival ended on a high note at Chitungwiza Unit L Open Community Ground with the Peace in the Hood concert attracting hundreds of music fans.
The event which took placecon Saturday, featured performances by Young Gemini, Mugaratia, Saint Wave, Nisha TS and Zimdancehall artiste Hwinza.
The programme started during the day, with young people aged between eight and 18 taking part in music activities and showcasing their talents.
Up-and-coming artistes were given an opportunity to perform freestyle songs in different genres, mainly Hip Hop and Zimdancehall.
The young performers were cheered on by the crowd as they used the platform to showcase their skills.
As the evening approached, more people arrived at the venue, with the programme moving into the main concert.
Young Gemini got the crowd dancing with an energetic performance, while Saint Wave maintained the momentum with a lively set.
Mugaratia also impressed with his lyrical ability and stage presence, receiving a positive response from the audience.
Songstress Nisha TS, who performed with her all-female band, delivered some of her popular songs, including Admire Kadembo and Musanditsiure.
However, her performance was cut short after some people in the crowd threw objects onto the stage.
The incident disrupted the performance and Nisha TS and her band left the stage.
Zimdancehall artiste Hwinza later took to the stage and brought the concert to a close with an energetic performance.
The Chitungwiza crowd sang along to his songs and called for him to return to the stage after his initial set.
He returned to perform another song before officially closing the Peace in the Hood concert and the 16th edition of the Shoko Festival.
