Peacemaker killed in brawl

who was being beaten up. Webster Bopera (22) recently appeared before Chitungwiza Magistrate Mrs Olivia Mariga facing murder charges as the main suspect. He was remanded in custody to April 28 and invited to apply for bail at the High Court.
Prosecutor Mr Henry Muringani told the court that on April 11 Bopera was drinking beer with his friends at Maposa Bottle Store in Seke. Blessing Nkomo was also drinking at the same bar when Bopera had a misunderstanding with an unidentified man. Blessing’s younger brother, Samuel Nkomo, intervened trying to stop the two from fighting.
It was at that time that Bopera is alleged to have turned on Samuel Nkomo, resulting in Blessing intervening. Bopera allegedly punched Samuel Nkomo once on the right eye. Blessing Nkomo followed him demanding to know why he had assaulted his young brother.
Bopera is alleged to have punched Blessing in the face once . He fell on the tarmac on his back and become unconscious. He also sustained a swelling and a cut on the back of the head. Blessing Nkomo was ferried to Parirenyatwa Hospital where he died on admission. The postmortem revealed that he died due to subdural haemorrhage due to trauma.
