Peak into PSL title race

ITaS a fight to the top and only the toughest will survive the race.

As the Castle Lager Premier Soccer League approaches the twilight stages, the top four teams are all jostling for a permanent place at the summit of the log table.

Football pundits are now asking the same age old question:A Which team has the easiest run and the best chance of landing the coveted PSL title championship come Match-Day 34?

The matches will only get bigger and better. Thatas a no brainer.

Surprise contenders Dynamos have the whole country asking serious questions considering the former champions were a laughable lot when the season started.

Kudos to Rahman Gumbo for transforming 2015 champions Chicken Inn into a force to be reckoned with.

B-Metro Sport takes a look at the remaining fixtures for the top four teams, in no particular order.

Chicken Inn: v Caps (A); v Highlanders (H); v Shabanie (A); v Hre City (H); v ZPC Kariba (A); v Tsholotsho (H); v Ngezi (A); v Chapungu (A); v Dynamos (H)

Chicken Inn are still to face local nemesis Highlanders and fellow title contenders Dynamos coupled with an away match to Ngezi Platinum.

If the Gamecocks can win the three tricky fixtures, the league title could be in the bag.

FC Platinum: v Yadah (A); v Caps (H); v Highlanders (A); v Shabanie (H); v Hre City (A); v ZPC Kariba (H); v Tsholotsho (A); v Ngezi (H); v Chapungu (A)

Itas not easy being labelled the perennial league title pretenders. FC Platinum have come close to winning the championship before but the dream has remained just that, a dream.

FC Platinumas most difficult fixtures are against Caps United, Highlanders and Ngezi Platinum and league titles are won by beating the best in the game.

Dynamos:A v Shabanie (A); v Harare City (H); v ZPC Kariba (A); v Tsholotsho (H); v Ngezi(A); v Chapungu (H); v Byo City (A); v Bantu (A); v Chicken Inn (H);

Itas remarkable how Lloyd Mutasa has transformed Dynamos into a formidable force with a relatively low key squad that even a?bookmakersa would not have put their money on to even finish in the top four.

With nine games to go things have changed and Dynamos are firmly in the championship matrix.

Ngezi Platinum: v ZPC Kariba (A); v Tsholotsho (H); v Byo City (A); v Chapungu (A); v Dynamos (H); v Bantu (A); v Chicken Inn (H); v FC Platinum(A); v Triangle (H)

Tonderai Ndiraya has managed to build a very strong side, raiding teams like Dynamos and Bulawayo City for material. And his signings have steered the Mhondoro based miners to within touching distance of the title.

Only time will tell if Ngezi will stand up and be counted among men and not pushed aside into a boys corner.
