A PENSIONER claims he is being given a raw deal, including harassment, at Doves Funeral Services over his policy.
The company has dismissed the claims.
Samson Dundundu (66), from Kuwadzana Extension, told H-Metro that despite paying a considerable amount upfront in 2003, Doves has been deducting money from his bank account without clarification.
“I am not happy at all because l worked very hard and subscribed for a policy for the benefit of my family.
“I paid a lump sum of$1 827.20 for the full policy in 2003, which was a huge amount at the time, making my policy mutual,” he said.
When he visited Doves for clarification, Dundundu said they allegedly refused to cooperate and even denied his request for a refund.
“I visited Doves with a bank statement seeking clarification on why they were taking money from my bank account.
“Instead of helping me, they harassed me and l got to a stage where l demanded a refund, but they refused,” he said.
Dundundu, who relies on the policy to support his family, is unhappy and wants a speedy resolution of the matter. Doves spokesperson, Innocent Tshuma, confirmed that Dundundu was their client and promised to look into the matter.
“We confirm that Dundundu is one of our precious clients, and we know nothing about the issue of harassment he raised with you, but we are now looking into the matter,” he said.
