THE minimum monthly pension payouts have been reviewed to $3 000 with effect from July 1, 2021 as the National Social Security Authority (NSSA) steps up efforts to increase the disbursement to the equivalent of US$60 – about $4 900 at the official exchange rate – by year-end.

NSSA deputy director (marketing and communication) Mr Tendai Mutseyekwa confirmed the development, saying the monthly payments were pegged at the equivalent of US$25 before the latest review.

The overall plan is to adjust the payouts to at least US$30 this month, US$40 in October and US$60 by December.

NSSA have also earmarked a goat farming outgrower scheme.
