adminVeteran disc jockey, Peter Johns will this Friday jet into the country for the Star FM second anniversary gig slated for that night at Rajiv Gandhi Hall at the Exhibition Park . After over 10 years in the United Kingdom, the popular DJ will headline the anniversary, dubbed the ‘All Star Party’. Speaking on the development, Star FM’s programmes manager Comfort Mbofana expressed excitement on Johns’ appearance at the gig.
“I can confirm that Peter Johns is definitely coming this Friday and we are excited about it. We are constantly communicating with him and he is equally excited about coming here.
“When we contacted him requesting that he comes this side he did not hesitate at all,” he said.
Mbofana added that the station’s decision to bring Johns on board came upon the realisation that pioneering DJs where not being honoured. “We have had many positive responses from fans that can’t wait to see Peter Johns in action. Fans can be rest assured that he has a lot in store for them. We are also hoping that he does a shift in studio if he has time for it,” he said.
Johns, who is a radio and club DJ at his base in the UK will spin the decks together with talented DJs Otis “The Flow” Fraiser, Naida, Ash Stylez and Godfatha Templeman.
The show will also have top class performances in the form of hip-hop clique MMT, Sniper Storm, Stunner, Soul Jah Love and Bulawayo songstress Langa.
Speaking on the diversity, Mbofana said it was because they wanted to cater for the diverse audiences that made up Star FM’s listeners.
“The ‘All Star Party’ will be an indoor event because there have been complaints about the cold weather. The security is tight and people should come in their numbers because it will be a party to remember,” he said.
