UTAKATAKA Express leader, Peter Moyo, says he is writing his own story and is happy with his journey so far.
He said negative comments actually drive him to do better.
Peter revealed that he will be releasing two albums this year — a non-sungura and sungura album.
“I have two albums this year that I am working on — a non-sungura album and a sungura album as well,” he said.
“I am doing my best in carrying on with my father’s legacy and people are actually supporting my hustle and for that I am grateful.
“I have never tried to be like my father ever since I started.
“I’m writing my own story, which is different from his, the way I dress or compose music is different.”
He added: “Negative comments are necessary as they build an artist in different ways, if you pay attention to the comments.
“I love the comments because kutotaura ikoko kutondiziva, which is a victory for me, because I want to be known.”
The non-sungura album will be a mixed bag of conscious, Afrobeat, soul and passada.
He said he still misses football, which he dumped to pursue a career as a musician.
He said other interests, and responsibilities, forced him to focus more on music.
“I still miss my football career and, yes, it was my father’s idea and wish but it was a decision I couldn’t reverse,” he said.
