The legendary former Highlanders, Coventry City, Birmingham and Sheffield United striker is still in the Intensive Care Unit at Mater Dei Hospital but in a stable condition with Madinda expressing confidence he will pull through.
“We don’t have anything as yet because Peter is lying on his hospital bed and is yet to know that Adam passed on. He is still asking about Adam and as a family, we have agreed not to let him know until maybe doctors have ascertained his mental preparedness for such tragic news,” said Madinda.
An emotional Madinda said the family was considering engaging the services of a psychologist who will relay the message to Peter in the presence of the family.
“The boy went for a scan today (yesterday) to ascertain on any internal injuries and the doctors will inform us on their findings tomorrow (today) morning and then after that we must be able to find a way forward. A specialist might be hired to relay the message in our presence,” said Madinda.
Last night the family held a meeting where they were expected to come up with a position on the best possible way of letting Peter know about the fate of his elder brother Adam.
“We will announce our position tomorrow (today) around mid morning,” said Madinda.
Peter and Adam were involved in a horrific car accident on Sunday morning when their BMW X5 crashed at the 417km peg just before the resort town of Victoria Falls. He sustained a cut on the right knee, left shin and forehead.
Last night, a moving church service was held at Adam’s house, 14716 Imbabala Way in Selborne Park, where soccer personalities were in attendance. More than 200 cars were parked as far as three streets away as people from across all walks of life joined the Ndlovu family in mourning their son.
Among those that attended the service were Chicken Inn players, administrators, former Highlanders players, former club chairmen, Roger Muhlwa, Enerst Sibanda, Themba Ndlela, current Bosso chairman Peter Dube, his deputy Sikhanyiso Moyo, committee member Charles Moyo, former secretary Nhlanhla Dube, Elkanah Dube, former Zifa boss Vincent Pamire, among others.
Also in attendance was the man who groomed the Ndlovu siblings on the pitch, Ali “Baba” Dube.
