Philanthropist Patience Mutangadura honours vulnerable children

Businesswoman and philanthropist Patience Mutangadura has called upon communities to help fight stigmatisation and help children from the disadvantaged backgrounds.
She was speaking during her birthday celebrations where she met with different children including the disabled and orphans in Ruwa on Sunday.

The 36-year-old took her day to dine with the vulnerable families and handed several hampers to them.

“I don’t do this because I have but its rooted from helping the disadvantaged based on how I was groomed.

“The way I was groomed pushed me to help children, not only orphans but some have parents but do not have,” she said.
Patience believes children need comfort and help.

“Soon we will be launching Patience Mutangadura Foundation which I should have named after my grandmother who groomed me.

“It didn’t just start but it came from my background. I grew up being taken for by my grandmother.

“My grandmother played a key part in my life. My mother gave birth to me when she was at school before she was then advised to go back to school.

“I was six months old, ndichibvisa pamukaka and and gogo was there for me, she didn’t give up. “Things were not easy, vaitoita zvekubatanidza.
“Sekuru were also there, they had more love since they had nothing much to offer.

“I grew up where there were many children but my gogo would share us equally.”

Patience said, there is hope in despair.

“I did under difficult circumstances and you can do it too. I would love to see the disadvantaged getting some love.

“There are some who don’t have uniforms, school fess and even food.”
