Pioneer Hi-bred loses 28 tonnes of seed

posed as potential buyers.

Romeo Nyamuchengwa (35) and Terrence Jona (30) misrepresented to the company’s officials that they were representatives from two non-governmental organisations namely International Fund for Agricultural development and Southern Africa Aids Network.

They ordered maize seed worth US$39 550 and used fake RTGS’s purporting that their companies had made payment.

They were not asked to plead to fraud charges when they appeared before Harare Magistrate Mr Donald Ndirowei who granted them US$200 bail each.
The two will be back in court on December 1.
