Plaxedes courts Mzansi’s finest

Currently, Plaxedes is rocking the airwaves with her a single titled “Huya Ndikutaridze”.
“The first version of the song ‘Brighter Day’ was a ballad and now we are moving a gear up to have it on a dance tempo.
“DJ Cleo is working on the single and I believe it’s going to be an smashing hit,” she said.
The song will be a departure from her previous recordings as it is a fusion of traditional, afro-jazz and soul music.
However, what has not changed on the new release is the soul and ballad type of music that’s synonymous with Plaxedes.
Speaking about the collaboration, Plaxedes said she was excited to work with a renowned producer.
“I think everything has been going on well for me and dance music is tak­ing over the music industry and my only hope is that the collaboration will at least put Zimbabwe in the limelight and it’s really exciting,” she said.
Plaxedes is the first Zimbabwean female artiste to work with DJ Cleo in what could become her major break­through in Southern Africa.
On the new album, Plaxedes worked with a number of artistes out­side her own stable called La Cede International, which she says will not only be concentrating on music but also clothing and toi­letries.
Featured on the album are David Sengwayo, vocalists Rumbidzai Seng­wayo and Petronella Gobvu as well as Tino Dambaneunga, among oth­ers.
