Plaxedes serenades music lovers

The mother of two opened her set with the bouncy track “Kamumhanzi” and had everyone singing along while in between her performances she would invite guests to the dance floor. There was never a dull moment with Plaxedes who exuded good crowd control and high energy on stage. One of the things she enjoys most is to teach the crowd both young and old how to get down.

Obviously, a veteran when it comes to staging private shows, Plaxedes did not waste time to turn up the music with other crowd favourites such as “Zam Zam” and “Ronga Imwe” that delighted the fans. She also spiced her act with cover versions of Malaika’s “Destiny” and Chaka Demus and Pliers’ all time hit “Murder She Wrote.”

Later, it was party time with songs from her chart- topping album “Brighter Day”.
Her backing group comprising vocalists Noreen Gwagwagwa and Joel Chiweda and instrumentalists and bassist James Buzuzi and drummer Wisheart Mamvura were in top form.

Buzuzi last year toured the United States as part of the famed afro-acoustic group Bongo Love while Mamvura is a member of the Zim Praise Choir.
Asked how she was managing her busy schedule, Plaxedes said she always has time for everything. Besides playing at private functions, the “Wadarireyi” singer is also a radio presenter with ZiFM where she hosts a popular love and relationships show every Sunday.
