KADOMA businessman Cosmas Daka says although he cut sponsorship to his Cossy Rules Football Club that he took into Division One two years ago, he is still involved in the game.
Daka has organised a clean-up campaign in Kadoma set for Monday running under the theme “Restoring Kadoma’s glitter as City of Gold.”
Musicians and footballers are expected to take part in the clean-up campaign.
Somandla Ndebele, Allan Chimbetu, Peter Moyo and Sandra Ndebele are some of the musicians expected to feature in the campaign.
Osborne Mukuradare of Harare City, who hails from the town, Artwell Mukandi of Dynamos and Phillip Marufu of Black Rhinos are expected to represent the footballers.
“I have always maintained a close relationship with many footballers in the country as I was once a sponsor,” said Daka.
“I am one of those people who believe that these players are role models and opinion leaders, they help to influence people to do the right thing.
“We want soccer fans to be there as much as we want music fans to be there. They are important to our cause.”
Early this year, Cossy Rules staffers held another clean-up campaign that started at the city entre and ended at Jairos Jiri centre where food and clothes donations were made.
This time around, they have joined hands with other corporate players like EMA, Solid Mining, Jocos Mining, Bee Line and Musamariya.
“I have organised this campaign because every time I help the needy it feels like a burden has been lifted off my shoulder,” said the businessman.
