YOUTHS should pluck a leaf from the country’s liberators who as young people left the comfort of their homes to fight for the independence of Zimbabwe, Deputy Minister of Local Government and Public Works, Engineer Benjamin Kabikira, has said.

In an interview, the 34-year-old minister hailed President Mnangagwa for incorporating youths in Government and other key sectors of the economy.

In an interview on the sidelines of the Robert Gabriel Mugabe National Youth Day at Mushagashe Vocational Training Centre in Masvingo, Deputy Minister Kabikira said youths should safeguard the legacy of the previous generations.

“We actually appreciate what President Mnangagwa is doing to us as youths. He is incorporating the youths in Government programmes.

“The President wants to ensure that Vision 2030 is achieved with the incorporation of youths, we are so grateful for that,” said Deputy Minister  Kabikira.

Youths, he said, should take a leaf from those who participated in the liberation struggle during their youthful stage.

“The young people of yester-year played their part through sacrificing their youth and schooling to wage a protracted war of liberation.

“We need to sacrifice our lives to develop the nation as youths,” said Deputy Minister Kabikira.
