Plumtree Chiefs, Ntabazinduna in tricky encounter

ZIFA Southern Region Division One Soccer League championship dark horses, Plumtree Chiefs will be keeping their fingers crossed that the top of the table clash between Technosphere and Tsholotsho FC ends in a stalemate.

Plumtree Chiefs, fourth on the table with 43 points trail Technosphere, Tsholotsho FC and Black Boots by two points and are involved in a tricky encounter with Ntabazinduna who also have an outside chance of clinching the title.

The game of the weekend is the Tsholotsho FC, Technosphere clash and Plumtree Chiefs who should collect maximum points tomorrow, would want the weekend game to end in a draw.

Having surrendered their Premiership slot to Bantu Rovers after winning the championship last season, there have been growing fears that should they retain the title, Plumtree Chiefs are likely to do the same, a rumour that club sponsor, Lovemore Sibanda quashed.

“It has been a tough but interesting season where all teams have really been competitive. It has been exciting for everyone and you can tell that the race is going to the wire. We are also in it with a slim but outside chance and we are going to fight to the last game. We have heard people say should we win we will dispose of the franchise which is not true. We dream of playing in the top flight and we hope to realise it soon,” Sibanda said.

To keep their title hopes alive, Agent “Ajila” Sawu’s Ntabazinduna are expected to give Plumtree Chiefs a good run for their money as a win will see them dislodge their opponents from position four and close in on the leading trio.

Black Boots who lost 1-2 to Tsholotsho FC at home last week are on a bye and will get three points on a 3-0 scoreline as they were supposed to face disbanded Portland Cement.
