Plymouth release Galloway

LONG-SERVING Plymouth Argyle defender Brendan Galloway has been released by the English League One football club.

The 30-year-old Zimbabwe international is one of nine members of the Pilgrims squad who will not be offered new deals this summer.

Galloway, who has had a number of injury issues, has spent the past five years at Home Park and made 110 appearances, scoring six times.

Reserve goalkeeper Luca Ashby-Hammond and midfielders Jamie Paterson and Ayman Benarous will also leave the club, as will Nathanael Ogbeta and Callum Wright who have been out on loan this season.

Youngsters Zak Baker, Jack Matthews and Joe Hatch have also been released.

Meanwhile, goalkeeper Conor Hazard, captain Joe Edwards and experienced midfielder Joe Ralls have all been offered new deals.
