“We have not received that letter and it was not written by an MDC cadre,” he said.
“That letter was written by a Zanu-PF apologist masquerading as an MDC member.”
Despite Mr Mwonzora disowning Ms Kwenda, the letter has caused disharmony within the MDC-T’s UK and Ireland branch.
The branch’s youth organising secretary, Mr Caston Matewu, acknowledged that Ms Kwenda was a senior member of the party.
He angrily wrote a letter to Ms Kwenda threatening to “put a lid on you” for writing to Mr Tsvangirai.
Mr Matewu said he would take necessary steps to make sure that Ms Kwenda was expelled from the party.

“I seriously doubt your intended motives to do this,” he said. “Someone has to put a lid on you and if no one in the UK is willing then I will take the necessary steps to have you expelled from the party.
“We greatly believe in freedom of speech, but it does come with responsibility and you are far from being responsible.”
But Ms Kwenda insisted that Mr Tsvangirai deviated from the founding principles and ethos of the MDC-T.

She said as a leader, Mr Tsvangirai should be championing the fight against HIV and Aids and abuse of women.
“We are fighting HIV and Aids, preaching day in and day out for people to ‘condomise, condomise, condomise!’ Women should not be regarded as sexual objects,” she said.
“Leaders must take complete responsibility for all their actions both public and private.”
Mr Tsvangirai’s image was left in tatters after he was embroiled in the saga involving several women.
His wife Susan died in a car accident in 2009 and he has flirted with several women since then.
Most of Mr Tsvangirai’s love affairs came to the fore as women complained of being ill-treated or being unceremoniously dumped after sexual escapades.
