Poetry against violence

BULAWAYO poets will on Friday afternoon converge at the National Art Gallery of Zimbabwe (NGZ) for a Beyond Violence Poetry event.
Five poets namely, Tswa, Scrah, Philani Nyoni, Sitha and Sypho will showcase their talent as a way of campaigning for a violence free society.

Magwegwe Youth Centre-based Sekunjalo maAfrica Arts will also perform during the poetry session intervals.

Meck Sibanda, the campaign manager said the event was open to the public. He said they organised the campaign as a way to bridge the gap between the diverse groups in Zimbabwe.

“The new campaign Vision4Zimbabwe aims to bridge the gap and tensions between the diverse groups in Zimbabwe and establish a movement which prevents violence by taking steps towards a prosperous dialogue based for Zimbabwe,” said Sibanda.
