Pogba ‘happy’ to stay at Juve

Paul Pogba has dealt a blow to Chelsea and Barcelona by admitting he could stay at Juventus for the forseeable future.

The France midfielder was a target for Blues boss Jose Mourinho this summer and Chelsea saw a £54 million offer for the midfielder rebuffed by the Italians.

Having also reportedly been the subject of a rejected bid from Barcelona, Pogba admits he may well remain in Turin.

Speaking to Telefoot, the 22-year-old said: ‘‘It wasn’t the right time for me to go, and I could very well remain at Juventus.

‘‘Right now, I’m still happy to be there. We’ll finish the season and then we’ll see again.

‘‘Has a Barca deal been struck in January? I don’t know, for now I’m at Juventus and I’m focused only on them because we haven’t started well. As for the rest, we’ll see.’’

Manchester City and French champions PSG have also been linked with the former Manchester United man.

Having lost their opening two fixtures, Pogba is keen to help kickstart the Serie A champions’ season.

The Frenchman also appeared in last season’s Champions League final as Juventus lost 3-1 to Barcelona in Berlin. — Dailymail
