Vandals purporting to be Manchester United fans have expressed their displeasure about the Paul Pogba transfer speculation by graffiting a sign outside the club’s Carrington training ground.
“Pogba out,” reads the message, which is spray painted onto a sign telling fans not to congregate around the road to try and get player signatures.
There has been no secret made of Pogba’s desire to find a Manchester United exit this summer, and it appears fans have finally had enough.
The sign outside Carrington was only recently erected, aiming to stop the increasing number of fans coming to the training ground to try and see their idols.
Pogba has featured in each of Manchester United’s games this season amid interest from Real Madrid.
He performed well in pre-season, and has also made a bright start to the Premier League season, despite missing a crucial penalty against Wolves.
United seem desperate to keep the Frenchman, and with the European transfer deadline looming, it appears they will get their wish.
They haven’t brought in a midfielder this summer as a replacement, and selling Pogba now would mean they wouldn’t be able to sign anyone until January to take his place.
However, Real Madrid may still be preparing a move, and Paul Pogba’s brother Mathias fuelled the fire by saying “everyone knows my brother would be great for Real Madrid and (Zinedine) Zidane,” in a recent interview.
“I don’t know what to say . . . Zidane has always spoken highly of my brother, it’s an honour. Another thing is that they listen to him.”
On the other hand, United have remained convinced that Real Madrid don’t have the money to pay the £150 million plus wages they’re demanding.
Real Madrid have already spent hundreds of millions on signings this summer as Zidane looks to get the team back on track after a disappointing campaign last season.
The graffiti on the sign comes just a week after Pogba was racially abused on social media.
His United team-mates flocked to his aid, calling for Twitter and other social media companies to clamp down on hate speech on their websites. — Daily Mail
