However, she has been put up again for possible eviction this week. This means that Zimbabweans should brace for yet another campaign to ensure her stay in the house.
While votes are counted per country, Zimbabweans have to make sure they rally support from other countries. She must continue winning the swing vote from the Rest of Africa. Hate or love her, Pokello will stop at nothing to win the grand prize of US$300 000 up for grabs for the last man or woman standing in the show.
While the mood in the house appeared to be tense, scores of people who turned up at the Book Cafe had every reason to smile and dance when it was announced that Pokello was safe from eviction.
Of course, you could have been anywhere on Sunday but those that turned up at the Book Cafe had a blast mingling with Power FM presenters Bridget “Bubz” Gavanga, the head of the station, the duo of Witness “Chuman” Matema and the legendary Kudzi “Mr Kool” Marudza, Tinashe “Chef Gulaz” Chiname and Tinashe Chikuse.
Also present were ZiFM presenters including Tonderai “TK” Katsande and Harare socialite Chief J.
DJ Elroy Miller was on fire when he took to the decks mixing old and new classics just the way fans loved it. When DJ Smylie was introduced to the crowd he brought the house down.
DJ Smylie, who is well known for his chant “Usadaro”, brought energy on stage and revved up the crowd when he teamed up with Elroy throwing down some dancehall tunes.
It was indeed a party and a half with fans being treated to guest performances by Trevor Dongo, Stunner and BaShupi. Trevor was on point and so were Stunner and BaShupi.
Stunner, who was introduced as Pokello’s boyfriend, put up a great show and also performed his upcoming single. He, however, joked about seeing Pokello flirting with other housemates before he performed the song “Painkiller”.
BaShupi proved his worth when he performed a medley of songs much to the delight of the audience. Later, some lucky fans walked away with iPads and smartphones courtesy of Goldtech Electronics.
