The two operations dubbed “Wapinda Sei,” targeting foreign vehicles and “Takurai Vakakwana” to clamp down overloading are being launched simultaneously in all stations countrywide.
Police will work in conjunction with the Vehicle Inspection Department, Ministry of Transport, Communications and Infrastructure Development and the Traffic Safety Council of Zimbabwe.
Operation Wapinda Sei will be targeting foreign registered bus operators who have the habit of running their businesses in Zimbabwe using fake or inadequate documents.
“Takurai Vakakwana” is meant to avoid overloading by arresting all operators who will be ferrying more than the maximum number of passengers.
