‘Police’ DJ on the run

Julia N`andu Weekender Reporter —
A CHIMANIMANI man last week left the court in stitches when he offered $2 per month to his wife for the medication of his minor child. Everson Museza of Chimanimani area was brought before Mutare Civil Court by his wife, Lydia Marange, claiming $150 as maintenance for their minor child.

In her claim, Marange stated that her husband was spending money on girlfriends and failing to look after his family.

“The respondent is a womaniser who does not fend for his family. He does not pay school fees for his child who is still at crèche.

“Besides that, he collects rentals from the shop which we inherited from my mother-in-law. He earns $75 per month from the shop and he is also employed,” she said.

In response, Museza said he could not afford to pay maintenance because he was unemployed and that he was sharing the money he was getting from the shop with his brother.

After hearing submissions from both parties, presiding magistrate, Ms Anniah Ndiraya ruled that Museza should pay $40 for the minor child with effect from October 31.
