Police hunt for seven armed robbers

Police have launched a manhunt for seven armed robbers who attacked two couples in Harare and Bulawayo in separate incidents and stole over US$30 000.

In Kambuzuma, Harare, four robbers got away with close to US$5 000, while in Bulawayo another gang got away with over US$25 900.

National police spokesperson, Commissioner Paul Nyathi said investigations are still in progress.

“Police in Harare are investigating a case of robbery which occurred at a house in Kambuzuma 4 on November 23.

“Four unknown suspects who were armed with a pistol attacked a couple and stole US$4 870 and two cellphones,” he said.

Meanwhile, police in Bulawayo are also investigating a robbery case that occurred at a house in Cowdray Park on November 22.

Three robbers who were armed with a pistol attacked a couple and stole US$25 918, five cellphones and a wrist watch.
