POLICE in Rusape have launched a manhunt for six men who broke into two separate houses recently and got away with cash and property.

Acting Manicaland provincial police spokesperson, Assistant Inspector Wiseman Chinyoka, confirmed the incidents, saying the six suspects who were armed with hammers and iron bars, raided Annah Chinzambwa’s house and assaulted her before stealing US$700 and her car keys.

“Chinzambwa sustained serious injuries during the attack and had to be admitted at Rusape General Hospital. The same gang proceeded to Nomore Arubu’s place and robbed him of US$1 500 and 2 000 Rand.

“We are appealing to the public for information that may lead to the arrest of the suspects,’ said Assistant inspector Chinyoka.

He urged people not to keep large sums of money in their houses as they may be targeted by robbers.
