Police officers should shun corruption-Justice Chiweshe

Speaking at a passout parade of 310 police officers at Ntabazinduna Training Depot Thursday, Justice Chiweshe said members of the police should continue acquainting themselves with the laws of the land, as they were the first port of call in the justice delivery system.

“It is essential for police officers to professionally and diligently investigate all cases reported to them. Police officers must protect the legacy of professionalism and discipline by shunning corruption and all forms of indiscipline,” said Justice Chiweshe.

He said the police force should be capable of safeguarding the country from the tide of contemporary criminality.

Justice Chiweshe commended members of the police for their relationship with the judiciary in eradicating crime, adding that the police should further the frontiers of policing excellence in line with the Strategic Plan Vision 2020 theme of “Policing the nation for sustainable economic development”.-Chronicle
