Police seek assistance in identifying  three corpses

Police is seeking assistance from the public in identifying three bodies, including two who died in separate accidents.

The third body was found floating in a river.

The trio’s bodies are at mortuaries in Harare, Murewa and Chivhu.

In a statement on Monday, police spokesperson Assistant Commissioner Paul Nyathi said the first victim is a male adult in his 30s who was reportedly hit by an unknown motorist near the Harare Magistrates’ Court on July 21.

This body is currently at Parirenyatwa Hospital mortuary.

“The second victim is a female adult who was a passenger in a Freightliner truck involved in a road traffic accident at the 106 km peg along Harare-Masvingo Road on June 25, 2022. The victim died on the spot and the body is at Chivhu Hospital mortuary,” Asst Comm Nyathi said.

The third case involves unknown woman’s body that was found floating in Inyangani River in Juru, Murewa,  on May 20, 2022.

“The body, which was in an advanced stage of decomposition,  had a yellow floral dress and a black top. The body is at Murewa Hospital mortuary, ” added Asst Comm Nyathi.
