Police to name and shame Bulawayo traffic offenders

BULAWAYO police will on Thursday name and shame motorists who were caught on camera violating traffic regulations in the Central Business District.

This will become the second such list after the 290 offenders from Harare who were named last week.
Street cameras were installed in strategic positions in the city centre last August.

“We have the list (of offenders) and we will be making it public tomorrow (Thursday),” ZRP national spokesperson Commissioner Paul Nyathi said.

Commenting on the 290 traffic fugitives from Harare last week, police said all those whose car number plates were on the list had seven days to present themselves to the nearest police station.

The Electronic Traffic Management System uses cameras to monitor and capture traffic violations, including drivers who ignore red lights. This system enables the ZRP to efficiently identify and track offenders.
