A BULAWAYO socialite Breezy whose legal name is Brendon Shoko, his girlfriend Prisca Chipeta popularly known as Gugulethu Banda and Knowledge Mhlanga have been convicted of swindling Phathekile Madonko of US$560 meant for her child’s school fees.

The trio appeared before Bulawayo magistrate Maxwell Ncube, charged with two counts of forgery. They all pleaded guilty to the charges and were convicted. The matter was remanded to 26 March 2025 for sentencing.

Circumstances are that on 7 January 2025 the complainant entrusted Chipeta with US$350 to deposit into Gloag High School’s CBZ Bank account for her child’s school fees.

The court heard that instead of making the payment, Chipeta converted the money to her own use and approached Shoko and asked for a forged Deposit slip. Shoko engaged the services of Mhlanga who then forged a CBZ deposit slip of US$350.

It was also heard that on 20 February 2024 Madonko gave Chipeta another US$210 for school fees. Instead of depositing the money Chipeta once again misappropriated the money and collaborated with Chipeta and Mhlanga to forge another deposit slip of US$210.

The matter came to light when Madonko was contacted by the school, reminding her to settle the child’s outstanding fees. A police report was made and investigations made leading to the trio’s arrest.
