Postmortem confirms carbon monoxide poisoning cause for Zvishavane family’s death…burial Thursday

A postmortem report has confirmed that the five close family members from Zvishavane District succumbed to carbon monoxide poisoning from a brazier used for warmth while sleeping on Sunday night.

The five who include three adults and two minors succumbed to carbon monoxide poisoning while in Gudhuza Village, under Chief Masunda.

The traditional leader confirmed the postmoterm results yesterday as well as the burial arrangements for the Simango and Ncube families.

“The postmortem results indicate that the five died from carbon monoxide poisoning from a brazier used for warmth while sleeping on Sunday night,” said Chief Masunda.

He said the five will all be buried today in Shurugwi, Gutu and Zvishavane.

“Burial arrangements for the Simango and Ncube families, bodies left Nyaradzo and Doves for Shiku Village. Bodies of John Ncube (Zirega) 57 and Nigel Ncube (Zirega) 30 will proceed later in the evening for burial in Shurugwi today,” he said.

“The body of Denzel Simango 15 will proceed for burial in Gutu today.

The Bodies of Jeremiah Simango 42 and Jedire Simango 8 will be buried at Guduza village, Shiku today at 11am,” said Chief Masunda.
