The Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority of Zimbabwe has been recognized as the most transparent and accessible public institution, according to a recent research conducted by the Media Institute of Southern Africa (MISA) Zimbabwe.

MISA’s transparency report for this year highlighted POTRAZ’s commitment to open communication and information sharing.

POTRAZ director-general, Dr Gift Machengete has expressed gratitude for the recognition, emphasising the authority’s dedication to fostering trust and innovation through media engagement.

“I am deeply grateful for this recognition. Our efforts to engage with the media are rooted in the belief that transparency drives innovation and trust,” he said.

“I would like to take this opportunity to thank my incredible team for their hard work and dedication in implementing innovative communication initiatives.

“Their creativity and commitment have been instrumental in strengthening our outreach and fostering open dialogue with the public.”

Beyond media engagement, POTRAZ conducts regular roadshows and community engagements to inform the public about their rights and responsibilities as consumers of postal and telecommunication services.

POTRAZ also conducts public sensitisation workshops on the Cyber and Data Protection Act.
