Bulawayo’s streets turned pink and powerful on Saturday morning as hundreds of residents laced up their sneakers for the 10th Annual Zimpapers Cancer Power Walk, joining thousands nationwide in the fight against cancer.

From the break of dawn, the city’s heartbeat thumped from the Chronicle Building, where participants — young and old, fit and fresh — gathered to walk, dance, and sweat for a cause that touches every home.

The event kicked off at 6 a.m. with an energetic Zumba and aerobics session that had the city buzzing, as fitness instructors pumped up the crowd before the symbolic city walk began.

Now marking a decade of impact, the Cancer Power Walk has become a rallying point of hope across Zimbabwe, with simultaneous events lighting up Harare, Gweru, Mutare, Masvingo, and Chinhoyi. Reports from these cities showed huge turnouts, with families, corporate teams, health advocates, and school groups all showing solidarity.

Running under the theme “United by Unique,” this year’s edition celebrated the spirit of togetherness, reminding the nation that cancer doesn’t discriminate by age, gender, race, or class.
