Power sessions hosts a comedy show

POWER Sessions, a poetry and comedy initiative is hosting an event at the Harvest House International church in Bulawayo on Wednesday to celebrate the month of love.

The event is running under the theme, ‘The crucifix of Romeo’. The theme is set out to showcase the different sacrifices and challenges that come with love.

The director of the initiative, Chengatai Sithole said they want to explore the different complexities of love through art.

“This is a unique celebration of love and romance featuring the city’s finest artists. These different artists will cover poetry and comedy, they will tackle issues to do with love, romance and relationships,” he said.

Sithole stated that their goal is in supporting artists and giving them a platform to showcase their talents.

“As an initiative, our goal is to ensure that we bring together talented artists from the city to showcase their craft. We want to explore the complexities and depths of love through poetry and comedy and to entertain our audiences,” he said.

He indicated that there are a number of artists lined up for the event.

“We have a number of artists lined up for the event like Frank Chirisa, Chester, Ble and Cebo,” he said.

Sithole said that they have many plans set for the year.

“We are set to have our first ever concert in August and we will have a number of events and collaborations with many local artists,” he said.
