Award winning artist Nicholas Muchinguri, affectionately known as POY in the Zim Hip Hop music circles believes his new album “The Realest” will take him to another level in the music industry after taking time to put depth to his lyrics and music. The album being produced by Young Stan and co-produced by Yung Ziff comprises of a single which features the hip hop rapper Mariachi.A track called wallets touches on the children raised by single mothers to encourage them to never give up and aspire for more in life.
He did another track “Umlilo Wamapepa” with Guluva7 and Rebellious which features Young Stan.
The track “Abquest” and the title track “Realest” touch on current state of hip hop amongst other tracks.
POY’s new album has seen him digging deep into the lyrical level of hip hop showcasing his skills and creativity as a Zim hip hop artiste.
“This is my second album which explores different social issues and deeper lyrical aspects of hip hop music as a genre as opposed to the usual bragging hubris levels of local hip hop which is not realistic,” POY said.
He conceded that his first album was limited in lyrical content, a move that affected its reception by the music fans.
The “Mabhomba” and “Yebo” hitmaker has revealed that the album will be available online while the official launch will be held in Bulawayo at the Horizon on the 27th of August 2016.
Born in 1980, POY did his High school at Plumtree High school.
He won the People’s choice award at the first Zimbabwe Hip-Hop awards in 2011.
