over?
Or maybe you need to think and do things differently this time, for instance, you could attend a church service and later on hang out on Easter Saturday with the Charambas in the Harare Gardens where they meet Jane Doka.
It appears there are endless possibilities this Easter holidays and for those who love gospel music, look no further as Pastor Charles and Olivia Charamba together with Doka have lined up a concert not to be missed.
Some see it as a clash between husband and wife, while others think it is an opportunity to foster family relationships.
But whichever way you take it, this is a family show that promises fireworks courtesy of Chipaz Promotions.
The gig has all the markings of a thriller as it also features the United Kingdom-based Doka in her debut appearance in Harare.
Currently on holiday, the 29-year-old singer says her music comes from the scriptures.
“My music is afro-centric and is based on the scriptures. The message seeks to make people aware of God’s will and they shouldn’t settle for anything else.
“Pivotal in my message is the power of prayer, especially at this time of the year when we celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ. I think it is crucial that people realise that the Word of God is the foundation,” she said in an interview.
Doka debuted on the music scene with the album “Nditumei” released in 2008 in the UK. Her sophomore album titled “Tenda” was recorded live in concert again in the UK, but she opted to come home before releasing her latest album “Reflections” which was recorded at Monolio Studios and produced by Mono Mkundu.
According to Doka, she recorded the album in Zimbabwe to show how much she respected her roots.
“Well, I am Zimbabwean and proud to be one. My music is afro-centric, something that shows how well connected I am with my roots,” the sultry singer said.
She said her third release was doing well both locally and abroad, largely due to the support of the Zimbabwean community in the UK.
“There has been massive support in regards to my latest album although previously, it was really hard to make a breakthrough because of lack of support by the media but now I think I am on a sound footing,” she said with a chuckle.
About the upcoming show, Doka said it was an honour to share the stage with the Charambas.
“The Charambas are seasoned performers and it is an honour to do a show with them. I have been doing a lot of rehearsals and I promise to give fans a great performance,” she said.
Indeed, the Charambas are arguably the best selling gospel artistes in the country and between them, they have up to 16 accolades.
Their music is laden with messages of healing, deliverance and salvation.
This is the couple’s first show in the Harare Gardens this year.
Partson Chimbodza, the organiser of the concert, urged fans to come early and be part of the big family.
Chimbodza, or Chipaz as he is commonly known in music circles, said fans will not be disappointed as they had put everything in place ahead of the gig.
