Preparations are in full swing for the second edition of the Isintu Fest UK, with organisers promising an amplified, culture-rich experience that captures the essence of Southern Africa. Set for July 19, the event will once again take place at the tranquil Happyfields Animal Sanctuary in Birmingham.
Attendees are encouraged to don attire with a distinct African flair, in keeping with the festival’s cultural theme. Among the headlining acts confirmed so far are renowned Afro-fusion artist Hwabaraty (Japhet Mlauzi), celebrated cultural ambassador Busi Mhlanga, and the festival’s founder Sisa Senkosi.

Speaking from the UK, Senkosi said they are working around the clock to ensure this year’s event surpasses expectations.
“We are ready to host the second edition of Isintu Fest UK, although in total, the festival has been held six times before, twice in Botswana, and once each in Eswatini and South Africa since its launch in 2022,” said Senkosi.
She revealed that more acts are expected to be announced soon, pending visa approvals, with performers from across the African continent lined up to share the stage.
According to Senkosi, what sets this edition apart is its expanded focus on African entrepreneurship and cultural storytelling, presented through exhibitions and culinary experiences.
“This year’s edition will be more exciting. We’ll have stalls selling traditional artefacts and African wear. Festival-branded regalia will be available, along with indigenous delicacies such as inkobe, umxhanxa, and isitshwala samabele, among others,” she said.
More than just a music concert, Isintu Fest UK has become a cultural movement. With a growing international audience, the festival continues to provide a platform for African heritage, identity, and pride.
“This momentous event promises to transport audiences to the heart of Southern Africa, celebrating the region’s diverse cultural heritage,” added Senkosi. – @mthabisi_mthire
