ZIMBABWE Test captain has described their forthcoming international cricket showdown against South Africa and New Zealand as an opportunity to test their skills.
The highly anticipated tours will begin with Zimbabwe taking on South Africa at Queens Sports Club for two Tests.
After the red-ball games, Zimbabwe and South Africa will shift their focus to the shortest format, heading to Harare Sports Club to meet New Zealand in a T20I tri-series.
Following the T20I tri-series, New Zealand will remain in Zimbabwe for a two-match Test series at Queens Sports Club.
Ervine said they are looking forward to what promises to be an interesting next few weeks.
“It’s big. Anytime you get to play against world champions it’s always a big occasion. South Africa and New Zealand are big opponents for us and we are going to be tested across the two months. It’s exciting to have that opportunity to really put your game to the test. The boys are really looking forward to it,” Ervine told Zimpapers Sports Hub.
The first Test against the World Test Championship winners, South Africa, gets underway on Saturday.
The Proteas are expected to touch down in Bulawayo on Tuesday afternoon.
