In a notice in an Extraordinary Government Gazette, the Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr Misheck Sibanda said the President had approved the new law in terms of constitutional requirements.
The General Laws Amend-ment Act (No.5 of 2011) seeks to make minor amendments to 17 laws on mostly matters to do with procedure and definition of terms.
The laws amended by the Act include the Administrative Court Act, the Judicial Service Com-mission, the Ombudsman Act, the Civil Aviation Act, the Indigeni-sation and Economic Empower-ment Act, the Parks and Wildlife Act, the Environmental Manage-ment Act, the Reserve Bank Act, the Building Societies Act and the Labour Act, among others.
The Act will also amend the Procurement Act, the Printed Publications Act, the Health Services Act, the Criminal Procedure and Evidence Act, the Police Act and the National Biotechnology Act.
