Mudzi legislator Cde Newton Kachepa has commended President Mnangagwa for the implementation of the devolution policy that has seen funds being released for various projects in the rural areas.

Cde Kachepa said this in the National Assembly on Thursday when he moved a point of national importance on devolution.

The constitution compels Treasury to release at least five percent of the national budget to local authorities for development projects in line with the devolution policy.

Since the coming in of the Second Republic, Government has prioritised devolution and funds have been released for the construction of schools, clinics and rehabilitation of roads and bridges among others.
