President dissolves Cabinet

PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa has dissolved Cabinet and is in the process of putting together a team of new Ministers, the Chief Secretary to the President and Cabinet, Dr Misheck Sibanda, said last night.

In a statement, Dr Sibanda said to allow for uninterrupted services in critical Ministries of Government, the President had appointed some Ministers in an acting capacity until the announcement of a new Cabinet.

He said Cde Patrick Chinamasa had been appointed acting Minister of Finance and Economic Development while Dr Simbarashe Mumbengegwi is acting Minister of Foreign Affairs.

“His Excellency the President, Cde E.D. Mnangagwa is scheduled to meet Heads of Ministries (Permanent Secretaries) tomorrow, 28 November, 2017 at the Munhumutapa Boardroom at 3PM. All Permanent Secretaries are required to attend,” said Dr Sibanda.

President Mnangagwa was sworn in as Head of State and Government at the National Sports Stadium in Harare on Friday.
