PRESIDENT Emmerson Mnangagwa delivered a keynote address today at the 8th Chinese and African Entrepreneurs Conference, which is being held on the sidelines of the Forum on China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC) in Beijing.

In his speech, President Mnangagwa emphasised the importance of strengthening economic ties between Africa and China, highlighting the potential for collaborative ventures in sectors such as agriculture, manufacturing, and technology.

He underscored the need for African nations to harness Chinese investment to support sustainable development and job creation.

The conference, attended by over 1 000 delegates from various sectors, aims to foster business partnerships and explore opportunities for trade and investment. This year’s event comes at a critical time as many African nations seek to recover economically from the impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic.

FOCAC, established in 2000, serves as a platform for dialogue and cooperation between China and African countries. This year’s gathering marks a significant milestone as it seeks to align economic strategies and enhance bilateral relations amid global economic challenges.
