President reaffirms Government’s support
In his keynote address, President Mnangagwa reaffirmed the Second Republic’s commitment to meeting the aspirations of persons with disabilities.

He said Government ministries have established departments for inclusivity and wellness, adding that high-impact programmes to address the issues of persons with disabilities will be rolled out.
Special Advisor on National Disability Issues in the Office of the President and Cabinet (OPC) Ms Rossy Mpofu showers praise on President Mnangagwa and his administration for their continuous recognition and uplifting of people living with disabilities. The President is currently meeting with persons with disabilities at State House.

VP Chiwenga commends President Mnangagwa’s inclusive policies
Vice President Dr Constantino Chiwenga has now taken to the podium.
In his remarks before introducing President Mnangagwa, VP Chiwenga said it is important to celebrate the progress that has been made in enhancing the livelihoods of persons with disabilities.
The VP also commended President Mnangagwa, who is the guest of honour at the event, for his all-inclusive development stance.
“Through the guest of honour’s leadership, we have witnessed significant milestones,” he said.
Social Welfare Minister reaffirms Government’s commitment to uplift persons with disabilities
Public Service, Labour and Social Welfare Minister Edgar Moyo has now taken to the podium.
Minister Moyo reaffirmed the Second Republic’s commitment to meeting the needs and concerns of persons with disabilities.
The Second Republic continues to uplift persons with disabilities, citing their important role in nation-building.
This is in tandem with the President’s mantra of leaving no one and no place behind.
President Emmerson Mnangagwa is hosting persons with disabilities at State House in Harare today, thereby reaffirming Government’s commitment to inclusivity and support for the disabled community.
The President launched the National Disability Policy in June 2021, which was a significant milestone in addressing challenges faced by persons with disabilities in Zimbabwe.
The policy aims to promote equal opportunities, accessibility, and empowerment for persons with disabilities across all sectors of society.
Building on this initiative, the Government established the Technical National Coordination Committee in 2022 to oversee and guide the implementation of the policy.
The Committee plays a crucial role in ensuring that the objectives outlined in the policy translate into tangible improvements in the lives of persons with disabilities.
Today’s event at State House is expected to provide a platform for direct engagement between the President and representatives of persons with disabilities, allowing for discussions on progress, challenges, and further steps in policy implementation.
